What is the Inclusive Family Coaching Model?
A holistic approach that integrates four pillars:
Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS): Emphasizing the idea that the individual is not having a behavior issue but rather does not have the necessary skills in a given situation. This approach allows us to assess five developmental domains that help to understand the family’s strengths and challenges. By identifying and nurturing those necessary skills, families can develop effective strategies and stronger connections.
ABA: An approach that analyses the behavior that occurs, what happens before, during, and after. This model helps to identify the function of the behavior. The insight allows us to adjust the environment and responses to the behavior, enabling a positive change in family dynamics.
Mindful Parenting: This component focuses on being aware of one’s emotional state, tone of voice, and body language in response to interaction with your child or children.
Individualized support: Coaching tailored to the family’s unique needs, this component includes Natural Environment Teaching. (NET) In the home and community (not in a clinic). Sensory processing integration, which considers the child’s sensory needs, supports a calm central nervous system, allowing learning to happen.
